Can I Pay Off My Secured Loan Early?

 The answer to this question depends on the secured loan company that you are dealing with.
Actually, that is not exactly true. All secured loan companies will allow you to pay off your loan early, but the real question is - how much will they charge you to pay off the loan early?
This goes back to the entire argument we made earlier in the week that you really have to shop around to find the best secured loan deal. It is not just about finding the lowest interest rates and best customer service - you also need to find out just how flexible the loan is. Meaning, can you pay off your loan early without too much of a penalty? Or are you going to be hit with massive fees?
These are all questions that you need to ask the company before you take out a loan with them. Some secured loan companies out there are predatory and will look to saddle you with major fees if you choose to pay off the loan early. Not all secured loan companies are the same, and usually companies will have very different policies when it comes to paying off your loan early.
When you are shopping around, make sure that you ask this very question. If they charge more than a very small % of the outstanding loan as a fee to pay it out early, go somewhere else.
